Brighton Beach Memoirs
The hilarious Neil Simon play Brighton Beach Memoirs continues in the Black Box Theater through October 2. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The Friday, September 22 performance is ASL interpreted, and the Saturday, September 23 performance is Audio Described. A post-show "talk-back" with the cast and crew will take place after the Sunday matinee on September 18. General admission tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors and students. Landscapes From Within
Bloomington Theatre and Art Center is pleased to announce Landscapes From Within, an exhibition featuring the work of Jill Van Sickle in the Atrium Gallery September 22 – November 13, 2011.
Ms. Van Sickle pulls from her long lineage of nature lovers, gardeners, and immigrant farmers as inspiration for her floral and plant subject matter. Her experience working with textiles also influences the beautiful patterns and textures of her paintings. In addition to her complex color palette, Ms. Van Sickle uses multiple layers of acrylic paint, oil paint, and finally oil pastels to render her lush and soothing compositions.
Landscapes From Within will be on display through November 13. Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 1:00 – 10:00 p.m. There is no admission cost. For more information, please visit our website or call 952-563-8575.

SPECIAL WORKSHOP
Thomas Kerrigan's Clay and Spirit
Registration is now open for a special two-day workshop led by master ceramicist Thomas Kerrigan on October 8 and 9. Clay and Spirit is open to anyone interested in learning more about clay, from the experienced clay artist to the beginner.

Thomas Kerrigan is a University of Minnesota Professor Emeritus who now resides in Tuscon, AZ. He taught at the University of Minnesota for 25 years before moving to Arizona, where he has maintained a studio for several decades. He has taught, exhibited his work, and served as artist-in-residence throughout the U.S., as well as in Latvia, China, Uzbekistan, Australia, Canada and Mexico. His work has been highlighted in Ceramics: Art and Perception and Ceramics Monthly.
In Clay and Spirit, Mr. Kerrigan will guide students in the creation of clay sculptures and vessel forms, using handbuilding techniques. There will also be extensive exploration of surface treatments. Kerrigan will give numerous demonstrations, including his approaches to double-wall constructions and building forms upside-down.
Clay and Spirit takes place Saturday, October 8 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 9 from
